Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 28, 2026

1. Controller and contact

KeepAround is provided by PurposelySimple, operated by Tim Claus. Contact: purposelysimple@icloud.com

2. Scope

This Privacy Policy describes processing by the KeepAround app, its extensions, the KeepAround website and email contact. Apple's own services are additionally governed by Apple's privacy terms; external sources are governed by the terms of their respective providers.

3. Data processed by KeepAround

This data is processed for the app features you choose to use: saving, analyzing, summarizing, searching, connecting, displaying, exporting, deleting and synchronizing content.

4. Storage on your device and in iCloud

KeepAround stores app data locally on your device. When iCloud is enabled for KeepAround, the app can sync your library through Apple SwiftData/CloudKit with the private database in your iCloud account. PurposelySimple does not operate a separate server or KeepAround account for this purpose. Synchronization can depend on your Apple Account, device, operating system, network, iCloud storage and system settings.

The share extension temporarily places content you submit in a protected app group area until the main app imports it. Import and cache data are limited and cleaned up when no longer needed.

5. Accessing external sources

When you save a URL or open the original source, your device communicates with the relevant provider. Technically necessary connection data, such as your IP address, time, requested URL and standard HTTP information, may be sent to that provider. KeepAround does not bypass logins, paywalls or access restrictions. The external source provider is responsible for its own data processing.

6. Intelligent features and Private Cloud Compute

KeepAround uses Apple's Foundation Models and Apple Intelligence technologies when available on your device. Processing may occur on device and, when Apple provides it for the particular feature, through Apple's Private Cloud Compute. PurposelySimple does not operate its own AI server and does not send your library to external advertising, analytics or general-purpose AI services. Availability and the exact processing location are determined by Apple, your device, operating system, region, language and system settings.

7. No advertising and no tracking

KeepAround does not use third-party advertising, advertising-related app tracking or, as currently implemented, external analytics, crash-reporting or telemetry services operated by PurposelySimple. Your library content, full URLs, search queries and interests are not sold for advertising or shared with data brokers.

8. App Store, purchases and subscriptions

KeepAround offers KeepAround Plus as an auto-renewable annual subscription that removes the free limit of 50 active memories. Apple processes payment, transactions and Apple Account-based purchase management through the App Store and StoreKit. PurposelySimple does not receive full payment details such as credit card numbers. KeepAround processes the entitlement or subscription status provided by Apple and cached locally to unlock unlimited capacity and honor the status offline until the expiration date confirmed by Apple.

9. Website and email contact

This static website does not set cookies through PurposelySimple and does not use forms, advertising or analytics scripts. When you visit it, hosting and network providers may process technically necessary log data such as IP address, time, requested file, referrer and browser information for delivery, security and troubleshooting.

If you email us, we process the sender address, message, attachments and technical email metadata to respond, prevent abuse and comply with legal obligations. Do not send sensitive app content unless it is necessary for your request.

10. Disclosure and recipients

PurposelySimple does not disclose your app library to advertising networks, data brokers or analytics providers. Technically necessary recipients may include Apple for iCloud, the App Store, StoreKit and Apple Intelligence; a source provider you access; website hosting and network providers; and email infrastructure. These providers process data under their own terms and must comply with applicable privacy requirements.

11. Retention, export and deletion

App data remains stored until you delete individual entries or choose Settings → Data → Delete All Data. Synchronized deletions may take time to reach iCloud. Uninstalling removes local app data from that device but may not delete data already synchronized. You can additionally manage iCloud data through Apple's iCloud storage settings. Before deletion, you can export your library through Settings → Data → Export Library.

Support emails are retained for as long as needed to handle the request, prevent abuse or meet legal retention obligations. Technical website logs are deleted or anonymized according to the hosting provider's retention periods.

12. Legal bases and your rights

Where the GDPR applies, processing is based, depending on the activity, on performance of a contract, your consent, legitimate interests in secure app and website operation, or compliance with legal obligations. You can revoke Apple permissions in System Settings and delete app data in KeepAround.

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability and objection, and withdraw consent for the future. Contact purposelysimple@icloud.com. You may also complain to a competent data protection authority.

13. Children

KeepAround is not specifically directed at children and does not require its own user account. If you believe a child sent personal data to PurposelySimple without required consent, contact us.

14. Security

KeepAround uses app sandboxing, protected system containers, encrypted Apple services, secure networking rules and data minimization. No technical system can guarantee absolute security. Protect your device and Apple Account, and do not save content that you are not permitted to process.

15. Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated when features, processing, Apple services or legal requirements change. The date above identifies the current version.
